About the artwork:
I use painting as a medium for creating visual narratives that critically examine social, cultural and political realities. I see the ideology of the painting as located primarily in the space it creates. To me, the receding pictorial space of the painting, is an inherently participatory space, in which both artist and viewer can encounter a sense of mystery and otherness. It is a space in which I can imagine with authority, where I can remember, where I can offer new places for altered perceptions of reality.
